Cement is an important ingredient of concrete act as binding Material having adhesive & cohesive properties.

 Manufacturing  of  cement

It is manufactured by burning a mixture of calcareous material (containing lime) , siliceous material (containing silica ) , argillaceous material ( containing alumina ) in proper proportion at very high temperature of 1400 to 1500°C . The product obtained on burning , is known as Clinker which is cooled & ground to required fineness to produce a material known as Cement . 

Ingredient  percentage

 Lime(CaO).       60-65%

Silica (SiO2).      20-25%

Alumina (Al2O3).  2-8 %
